I retried connections with the engine ON and got the same results, eliminating the battery or charger as the key issue.ĪPI testing in DIS went well, then INPA recognized battery and ignition, so why isn't there communication with any ECUs? Upon manual id, I tried a 'Quick test' on 'CAS Car Access System' and got the following:Ĭontrol unit not connected or does not signal.ġ3. No data could be read out of the vehicle.ġ2. I push on with a 'Quick Test' and get the following: * I was told that with an EasyDIS install, a 'diag head' is not necessary, so why is this error popping up?ġ1. Then in DIS, upon selecting 'Diagnose', I get the following error: After closing INPA, upon opening DIS, I immediately got a message about the battery voltage being 12V and to attach a charger, and get the following error, as an example(also see attached image).ġ0. I select E90 chassis and try to connect with CAS, FRM, etc. Inside INPA, Battery and Ignition status indicators are blackened indicating some communication with the car.ĩ. Immediately, I get this giant '!' mark(without a triangle or peripheral boundary) in the dash just like when the engine would not start due to the drained battery(without charger at that time) and warning chimes for a while then it gets quiet, but the '!' symbol stays on the dash.Ĩ. With the charger connected, I plugged in my 'key' and pressed the 'Start/Stop' button without stepping on the brake to 'turn the ignition ON' but the engine not running.ħ. I disable firewall and antivirus software, then start 'ifhsrv32.exe' and open INPA.Ħ. I connect my K+D CAN(FTDI chip based) interface cable into the OBD socket and the USB connector into my laptop.ĥ. I can charge this battery up and start the engine, but it does not have much capacity beyond that.Ĥ. Along with the dying battery, I've got a pretty decent 'digital' 10amp charger connected to the jumper connections.
